Happy Independence Day ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge June 29

TGIF!!!  Can you believe that the 4th of July is right around the corner?  Man!  This year is just zipping by!!!  Today marks another Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge. This time, the theme is Flag.  So, with Independence Day coming up, of course I decided to do an Independence Day project with stars and stripes.  Here it is:

I found this Circle & Stars Card file in the Silhouette Online Store and cut it out using my Silhouette Cameo.  The 3D Star and banner piece also came from the SOS.  The sentiment is from Pink by Design's Red, White & Blue Stamp Set, and all of the patterned papers are from my own Old Glory Stars and Stripes Printable Paper Pack.  I simply filled some background shapes with the patterns from this pack and used the print and cut feature on my Cameo to cut them out. :)  I finished off the card with some Air Mail Divine Twine that I got in the PBD store and some star brads, and my flag-themed card was all done! :)

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, link up your own Flag-themed project that incorporates a die cut.  We can't wait to see what you create!

Let's Hang Out

Happy Monday!!!!  Today is my Design Team day over at Pink by Design, and I have a simple little card to share with you.  Here it is:

The minute I saw this cute Rag Doll Digital Paper Pack from Lettering Delights, I knew I wanted to pair it with this sentiment from Pink by Design's Found You Stamp Set.  Don't they go together perfectly?  The little boy and girl dolls are hanging out together, right?  LOL!  Sooo cute!  I used Silhouette Studio to size down the paper to 5.5" so it would fit (with a nice border) on this 5.75" square card.

Then, I printed a second copy and cut out the little boy and girl rag dolls.  I used foam tape to attach them to the base image, to give this simple card a little dimension.  Then, I just added some jewels, and my card was all done!  Easy peasy!!!

By the way, did you know that another Ink it Pink Challenge is going on right now?  The theme this week is Red, White, and Blue.  You have until Tuesday at noon to link up a Red, White, and Blue project.  We can't wait to see what you create! :)

Hi Chickadee ~ Cameo Creations Summer Challenge

Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone's week has been AWESOME so far!  Well, it's time for another challenge over at Cameo Creations.  This time, the theme is to create a Summer project using your Silhouette machine.  Here's what I came up with:

This fun little penguin digital stamp came from Bugaboo Digi Stamps...it's the Poppi Penguin Innertube stamp.  Isn't he just adorable?  I used Silhouette Studio to trace him and fill the pieces with colors and patterns, then I used the print and cut function on my Cameo to cut him out.

The card base came from the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut it from double sided Echo Park paper so there would be different patterns showing.  Then, I stamped my fun sentiment (from Pink by Design's Bracketful Stamp Set) on the white piece, ran it through my Cuttlebug and my Tim Holtz Retro Circles embossing folder, and inked it a bit so the texture would show up a little better.  I added some jewels and some doodles, popped up my penguin with foam tape, and my card was all done.  Easy peasy!

Now it's your turn.  Head on over to Cameo Creations to see what the other design team members created. Then, link up your own Summer-Themed Silhouette project.  You could be the lucky winner of  7 free digi stamps from Bugaboo.  You have two weeks to link up...I can't wait to see what you create! :)

Best in the West ~ Ink it Pink Challenge

Happy Father's Day, everyone!  Today, I wanted to share the card I made for my dad for Father's Day this year.  He loves all things western and cowboy-ish, so this is what I created for him:

This card measures 5.75" square.  I got this cowboy silhouette and the barbed wire from the Silhouette Online Store.  I thought this weathered wood fence background was perfect for the card, and I added a little bit of red bandanna paper as a border.  It's kind-of hard to see, but I also added a sentiment at the bottom, which I got from Pink by Design's Best in the West Stamp Set

I used the same papers to decorate the inside and repeated the barbed wire border along the bottom.  The YEE HAW! sentiment and the cowboy stamp are from Pink by Design's Cowgirl Up Stamp Set.  The Father's Day sentiment is from Pink by Design's Our Fathers Stamp Set.

I used lots of ink to help the pieces of the card pop, and my dad's card was all done.  I'm hoping he'll love it and display it proudly in his western-decorated room. :)

This card is also perfect for Pink by Design's Ink it Pink Challenge!  This week's challenge is to create a masculine card or project...so go link up anything manly HERE.

Pink by Design

Remember to grab the Ink it Pink badge from the challenge page and display it on your blog to qualify. If you are linking to an online gallery like Splitcoast Stampers, please also use the key word pinkbydesign so your card can be easily found.  You have until Tuesday at noon CST to link up for this challenge...can't wait to see what you create!

I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Gamer Father's Day ~ SOUS Die Cut Challenge June 15

TGIF!!!  Today is a great day for another Die Cut Challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches. This challenge is All About Fathers.  Today, I'm going to share the Father's Day card I made for my hubby.  He loves to play video games, especially his PS3, so I thought I'd make a gamer Father's Day card for him.  Here it is:

I got this fun game controller file from the Silhouette Online Store and cut it with my Silhouette Cameo.  I though it was perfect for him because (except for the colors) it looks a lot like his PS3 controller.  The sentiment on the front came from the Pink by Design Our Fathers Stamp Set.  One thing I love about clear stamps is that you can bend and shape them in whatever way you want.  So, I was able to shape this sentiment so it fit the contour of game controller.  I used foam tape to pop up the buttons on the controller, added some ink and some doodle marks, and the front of my card was all done!

To create the base of the card, I mirrored the background of the controller and welded the two pieces together in Silhouette Studio.  Then, I stamped a few more sentiments from the Our Fathers Stamp Set.

Now, it's your turn.  Head on over to Stuck on U Sketches to see what the other Design Team members created, then link up you own die cut Father's Day project.  I can't wait to see what you create! :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!!!

Quick Grad Card and a WINNER!!!

Hey, there! Today I have a quick graduation card I made for the daughter of a family friend to share with you.  Plus, I have the winner of the Cameo Creations Birthday Hop to announce.  First, here's my card:

I got this cute hurray graduation file from the Silhouette Online Store.  I welded a rectangle to the file to create a card with a shaped front.  I decided to make the cuts in blue and white since the graduation girl's school colors are red, white, and blue.

Here's the inside.  I forgot to take a photo of it before I started writing.  Ooops!  I got both sentiments from Pink by Design's Hat's Off Stamp Set.   The, I added some doodles, and this quick card was all done! :)

Now, I have a winner to announce. The winner of the 24 Pack of American Crafts Ribbon is:

Congratulations, Bonita!  I'll be e-mailing you to get your mailing address.  Be sure to check your spam/junk folder just in case my e-mail winds up there.

Have a great hump day, everyone!  Come back on Friday...I'll have another project to share with you then. :)

Okay...One More Thing

So...another post.  If you saw my earlier post, you'll know all about my new little venture.  I got the Superhero SVGs done, so I wanted to share a pic of my test cuts.  I'm really happy with how they turned out. I had to make a few minor adjustments, but the Superhero Inspired Cut Files are now available for purchase in my store.  Just wanted to share. :)

Exciting New Adventure!!!

Hey, everyone!  I have a some super exciting news to share with you.  I've been working for a while now to learn how to create digital graphics....and I think I've finally figured out enough to have a little something to show.  I love to draw, and I'm super excited to be able to share my artwork with others.  I'm starting out small...here's what I have done so far:
This Superhero Inspired Digital Clipart is available in my Etsy Shop as JPEG and PNG files, which would be perfect for print and cut with the Silhouette or for use in digital projects.  I'm currently working on creating some SVGs from these files, also.  I'll let you know when I have those up in my store.  I have tons of ideas for graphics, and I can't stop working on them!!!  I'm really loving this!

I've also been working on creating digital printable papers.  These can be printed out to use in scrapbooking and cardmaking.  You can also import them into Silhouette Studio and use them to fill cut files to turn them into print and cut files.  Or you can use them to fill digital stamps, like I did HERE.  Of course, they can be used in digital scrapbooking and other digital projects.  Anyway, there's tons of uses for these, and I have lots of ideas for color combos and patterns.  Here's what I have done so far:

Well, there's my small start to something that will hopefully turn out to be a fun and worthwhile venture! :) I'd love it if you'd  take a look at these items in my Etsy Shop.

Of course, I'll continue making cards and scrapbook pages...so you'll still see the same sort of projects here on my blog.  But, I'm excited to start a new adventure to add to my crafty fun!

Oh, and you still have one more day to enter to win some fun American Crafts ribbon.  Check out and comment on the Cameo Creations Birthday Blog Hop post for a chance to win.  I'm choosing a winner on Wednesday! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)

Pound to Fit

Hey, there!  Today is my day to post over at Pink by Design, and I have a Father's Day card to share with you today.  Here it is:

I made this card for my father-in-law.  He's a contractor, plus, he's been doing a lot of home improvement projects around the house lately.  From what I gather, this funny sentiment is perfect for him.  I got the sentiment from Pink by Design's Tool Time Stamp Set.  The tape measure file came from the Silhouette Online Store, and I cut it using my Silhouette Cameo.  I added some ink, jute twine, brads, and some doodles, and the front of my 4.25 x 5.5" card was all done.

Here's the inside of the card:

The sentiments on the inside come from the Pink by Design Our Fathers Stamp Set.

Oh, and did you know that there's a fun challenge going on right now at Pink by Design?  Each Wednesday, a new challenge will start.  This week's challenge is to use words as backgrounds.  You have until Tuesday to link up a project HERE.  Then, you could win a PBD Love Always Stamp Set, a Just Beachy Stamp Set, and a $10 Gift Certificate to the PBD store.  I hope you'll go link up a project...I can't wait to see what you come up with! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  By the way, I have some BLOG CANDY available right now from a blog hop I participated in over the weekend.  You can check out that post HERE.  I'll be choosing a winner on Wednesday. :)  Have a wonderful day, everyone!!!

Cameo Creations Birthday Blog Hop

YAY!!!  It's the weekend, uh huh... it's the weekend, uh huh!  Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Cameo Creations Birthday Blog Hop.  Monica's birthday is coming up soon, so we're having this hop to help celebrate.

If you've come here from Ana's blog, you're in the right place.  If you've just stumbled upon my post, and you'd like to start at the beginning, head on over to Monica's blog.  Believe me, you don't want to miss a single project in the lineup, plus, there are TONS of goodies being given away!  So, check out all of the blogs! :)  Then, when you're finished hopping, you can link up your own Silhouette-created birthday project over at Cameo Creations. :)

My mother-in-law's birthday is coming up, so I thought I'd show you the card I made for her.  Here it is:

This card measures 5.75" square.  I got the fun honeycomb background and the cute bee from the Silhouette Online Store and cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo.  The cute sentiment came from Pink by Design's Honey Pie Stamp Set, and the other stamped designs came from Pink by Design's Handmade by You Stamp Set.  I added some ink, ribbon, and some doodles, and my MIL's birthday card was all done.  Now, the tricky part is getting it in the mail so it can get across the ocean in time for her birthday.  I don't have a lot of luck with that.  That's okay...she's used to things being BEE-lated.  hehe

Now, how about some BLOG CANDY???

One lucky follower will win an American Crafts Premium Ribbon Value 24 Pack (Summer Theme).  NOTE:  The ribbon is not exactly like the ones pictured, but it's late, and I'm tired, and I'm all snuggled in my bed...so I just found a similar picture instead of taking my own...lol!  Please forgive me.  :)  Take it from me, though:  the ribbon is SUPER CUTE! Here's what you need to do for a chance to win:

1.  Be a follower of my blog and leave a comment telling me you are.  Be sure to include your e-mail address.

That's it!  That's all you need to do to have a chance to win.  If you'd like additional chances, though, you can do one or all of the following:

2.  "Like" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook and leave a separate comment here on my blog telling me you did.  Be sure to include your e-mail address.

3.  Post my blinky on your blog.  You can find it on the left side of this page.  Please leave me a comment with your blog address and your e-mail address.  I'd love to visit and become a follower of you, too!

Please, only US or Canadian addresses.  I'll choose a winner on Wednesday, June 13.  Good luck!

Your next stop is Ceci.  Then, don't forget to link up your own Birthday-themed Silhouette project over at Cameo Creations for our challenge! :)

Monkey Birthday Party

Last night we had our very first slumber party in the Norris household.   Whew...9 giggling girls!  My hubby and I are EXHAUSTED!  Anyway, my daughter turned 11, and she wanted a monkey-themed birthday party. So, I thought I'd share some of the things I made for her..  First of all, here's the card I made for her.

This is an A2 sized card. I got the cute little monkeys from the Lettering Delights Monkey Around Cut It Set.  The little flag said something Valentine's-y, so I removed that layer, enlarged the flag, and added a sentiment from my Pink by Design Labels Stamp Set.  I added an orange bow (that's my daughter's favorite color), and her card was all done!

I also made invitations for her party.  I decided to go the digital route with them, though, so I could just design them, print them out, and be done.  It turned out to bee a good thing, too, because I had to redo them after they were already given out because of a conflicting school activity on the night we first scheduled the party on.  No problem, though, because I just changed the dates and reprinted.  Much better than re-making hand-made ones.

Anyway, I couldn't find a monkey graphic that I really liked for my daughter's birthday, so I decided to try drawing one in Inkscape.  Well, I did, and I think she came out really cute!  Then, I just created an invitation in Adobe Photoshop Elements, and I had an invitation I could print.  Here's what it looked like (with the personal info blocked out).

Then, I made coordinating treat bag toppers.  I simply imported my little monkey graphic into Silhouette Studio, traced it, and used the print and cut function to cut several of them out.  Then, I created a topper by using this file as a base, using the inset and knife tools to create the orange shape and pink bands, printed and cut the colored parts, and assembled them with adhesive and foam tape.  Then, I added a sentiment from Pink by Design's Big Thoughts Stamp Set.  Here's what they looked like:

Finally I made cupcakes for Madison's party.  I saw some really cute monkey cupcakes on Pinterest, so I decided to try making some of my own.  I made some brown and some orange (my daughter's favorite color).  Madison helped me give them all different expressions.  Here they are:

That's all I made for the party.  We had a lot to do around the house before her guests came (since it was a slumber party)...lots of games to set up and food to cook.   So, I kept my handmade stuff to a minimum.

Well, it's time for me to go take a nap.  We all stayed up WAY too late last night.  I hope the rest of your Sunday is spectacular!  Thanks for stopping by!
