Cupcake Birthday Blog Hop Winner

Wow! I took a little longer than I hoped to pick a winner for the Cupcake Birthday Blog Hop.  My life has just been CRAZY lately...I've been preparing to move to a bigger house (with a dishwasher...YAY!), and I've just been losing myself in a mountain of boxes.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to more crafting (and hopfully some challenges again) once I'm settled in my new house.

That being said, here's the winner of the Martha Stewart stamp set:

Congratulations Fot!  I'll e-mail you to get your  mailing address. :o)

Thanks for stopping by today...I'll have some more projects for you next week! Have a great Fourth of July weekend!

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #19: Celebrate Summer

This week at Celebrate the Occasion, we're celebrating summer.  The challenge is to create a project with a sun on it.  Here's what I came up with:

I decided to do a pretty simple shape card for this challenge.  I got the sun from Create a Critter and the card base from Wild Card...I used my gypsy to hide the inner circle that's usually on the base.  I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but the orange on the card is glitter paper.  I added some inking and a sentiment from Pink By Design's Summer Vacation Stamp Set, and my simple little card was all done!  I hope you like it!

Now, I hope you'll head over to Celebrate the Occasion to see what the other Design Team members created and then join in on the challenge yourself.  I can't wait to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by today...have a great week!

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #17: Father's Day

Guess what!?!?!?! It's Tuesday, so it's a great day for a challenge over at Celebrate the Occasion.  This week's theme is Father's Day.  Here's what I came up with:

So, I have to say that I'm not super crazy about this card.  It doesn't really go together, or something.  My idea behind this card is that it's for my husband...it represents a sort-of inside joke between him and our daughters.  The big gray elephant is supposed to be him, and the two smaller ones represent the girls.  The problem is that I made the little elephants in pastel colors, thinking it would be good since they are girls.  Well, then I couldn't really make the card very masculine since I had the pastels on there.  I told you I'm not great at making masculine cards!  Anyway, at least I think my hubby will get a chuckle out of this card.  The inside is going to say "Even when you're making elephant noises" which is my hubby's and daughter's code phrase for going #2.  Strange idea for a Father's Day card, maybe, but my girls think it's funny, and my hubby will, too, and that's all that matters. :o)

This is an A2 size card.  The elephants are from Birthday Bash, and the bows are from Once Upon a Princess.  The sentiment is from Pink By Design's Our Fathers stamp set.  I added a little ribbon (no bows this time), and my little card was all done.  I hope you like it!

So, now it's time for you to head on over to Celebrate the Occasion to see what the other Design Team members created.  Then, you can join in on the fun, yourself.  I can't wait to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by today!

My First Video

Hi, everyone!  If you're looking for my Fantabulous Cricut post for this week, click here.

Someone asked a question about the embossing I did on the invitations from the Pool Party Blog Hop, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me to do a video.  This is my first, so it's not the greatest...but I have to start somewhere, I guess. :o)  I will say that I had no idea that my voice can be so high-pitched and squeaky!  I wonder how my husband can stand it! ;o)  Anyway, here's my video...I hope you enjoy it!

Also, I've been so bad...I haven't had a chance to post that these loveley ladies passed on the Cricut-tastic award to me.  Thanks, Pat from Pat's Scraps and Jessica from Chick-n-Scrap!  Please go check out these ladies' blogs...they have such SUPER cute projects! :o)

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #63: #1 Dad

Happy Monday, everyone!  Can you believe it's already June!  And, on top of that, it even FEELS like summer here in Germany!  AWESOME (and unusual)!  Anyway, today is another Challenge Me Monday over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is #1 Dad: show Dad he's #1 by making a project just for him.  Here's what I came up with:

I made this A2-sized card for my dad.  I have to admit that making masculine cards is just not my strength, but I tried!  The rocket came from B is for Boy, and the sentiment on the front is a digital stamp from Whimsie Doodles.  I embossed the card base with my Christmas Stars embossing folder.  The sentiment inside is computer generated.  I added lots of ink, some ribbon, and some doodle lines, and my little Father's Day card was all done! I hope you like it!

Now, head on over to Fantabulous Cricut to see what the other Design Team members created and join the challenge yourself.  I can't wait to see what you come up with! :o)  Thanks for stopping by today!

CTO Pool Party Blog Hop

Happy Saturday, everyone! Welcome to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and the Pool Party Blog Hop! This hop is hosted by Celebrate the Occasion, so be sure to start the hop there! There are so many great projects in this hop...and I don't want you to miss even one of them! Plus, there's prize up for grabs at CTO and lots of blog candy along the way. Don't miss out!
If you came here from Rayna's blog (Purple Peeps Techniques), then you're in the right place. If you just stumbled upon this post and you'd like to hop along from the beginning, visit Celebrate the Occasion.
For this hop, we're all making projects related to the Pool Party theme. Well, this is just right up my ally! If you follow my blog, you probably noticed that I'm on a bit of a party decorations/invitations kick. So, that's what I decided to make for this hop. Here are my projects:
First, I decided to make a Pool Party invitation. These are A2 sized gatefold cards. The card base is an SVG file I found online (sorry, I can't remember where I found it). The file also included the scalloped circle. There are 4 different versions of the invitation.

I got the beach ball and flipflops/sunglasses from Pack Your Bags. The sun is from Create a Critter, and the popsicle is from Doodlecharms. Then, I embossed the front flaps of the card base with my Spots and Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.

The striped band just slides off the invitation to reveal the party information inside. The actual invitation was just made in Microsoft Word.

Well, I couldn't have invitations without some sort of party decorations! So, I decided to make some cupcake toppers and wrappers to match. Here they are:

I got the wrappers from Life's a Party. I think they turned out so cute! I hope you like them. :o)

Now, what would a blog hop be without some BLOG HOP CANDY????

I'm giving away this DCWV Citrus Album & Embellishment Kit to one lucky follower. YAY!! Here's what you need to do to have a chance to win:

More Over the Hill Items

Hi, everyone!  I just thought I'd post some projects I worked on recently for a client.  She liked my Over the Hill stuff, but wanted a cake topper instead of cupcake toppers and a banner.  Eeek!  I'd never made a banner before, but I had been dying to give it a try.  So, here are the goods:

Here's the cake topper.  All of these cuts came from Life's a Party.  I added some circles behind "The Big 4-0" so it would show up better.

I can't remember where I got these cuts...the scalloped and rounded squares are from Gypsy Wanderings, maybe?  I think the letters are from Birthday Bash.  I think my little banner turned out cute...and it was a lot of fun to make! :o)  I can't wait to make another one!

I hope you'll stop by again this weekend.  Celebrate the Occasion is hosting a Pool Party Blog Hop.  I hope you'll stop by to see what all of the talented Design Team members have to show you.
